The 2021 Ioniq is a compact SUV that is offered as a hybrid, a plug-in hybrid, and an electric vehicle. The Ioniq Hybrid comes equipped with a 1.6-litre gasoline direct injection engine that is paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission and works together with a 32-kWh electric motor to provide excellent performance and fuel efficiency and is able to get an estimated fuel economy rating of 4 L/100km combined.
The plug-in hybrid comes with the same 1.6-litre engine and 6-speed transmission. However, it is now paired with a larger 45 kWh electric motor. The Ioniq PHEV allows you to change between driving modes including Eco mode and Sport mode. With this powerful engine, the Ioniq PHEV is able to get an estimated fuel economy of 2 L/100km combined.
The 2021 Ioniq Electric utilizes a 38.3 kWh battery to power a 100-kWh electric motor. This powerful motor gets an estimated fuel economy of 1.6 L/100km combined. There are also three ways to charge this EV. A public charger can charge the battery in just under an hour. A 240-volt power outlet will charge the battery in a little over 6 hours. A standard 120-volt household power outlet will charge the battery in about 35 hours.
This year, the popular Elantra is being offered as a fuel-efficient hybrid. Like the Ioniq, the Elantra also comes equipped with a 1.6-litre engine that is paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission and works with a 32-kWh electric motor. The Elantra Hybrid is able to travel up to 955 kilometres on a single tank. It also gets an estimated fuel economy rating of 4.4 L/100 km.
The Santa Fe comes standard as a gas-powered SUV. However, a hybrid version is available. The Santa Fe hybrid comes equipped with a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that works together with a powerful electric motor and Is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic manual mode. This powerful engine works together with the electric motor to deliver 226 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft of torque.
