Models and Prices
In Canada, news of the arrival of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 already started in 2021. The price of this crossover SUV was confirmed in November of 2021, which led to approximately 2,000 pre-orders before it even arrived in Surrey.
The 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 comes in five models, debuting with the Essential, priced at $44,999 and has a range of 354km. You have the Preferred at $46,999 with a range of 354 km. The Preferred Long Range is priced at $51,999 with a range of 480km. At $54,999, you have the Preferred AWD (all-wheel drive) Long Range with 415km for range, and lastly, you have the Prefered AWD Long Range with Ultimate package priced at $59,999 with a range of 400 km.
Battery Operated
The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is among the list of new EVs that’ll be built on an Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The car is all about super-fast charging; the battery can move from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes.
This all-electric crossover SUV has two battery pack options:
58 kWh battery gives you 354km of range and provides 168 hp
77,4 kWh battery gives you 412km of range and has two electric motor layouts - the first option allows for one motor driving with rear wheels only, while the second option lets you drive with two motors with both rear and front wheels. You’ll also benefit from the 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque, which is enough for the car to go from zero to 100 km/h in 5,1 seconds
Special Features
For the first time, Hyundai has included a Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2) to make the car safer while driving on the highway by pre-setting and maintaining distances and speeds between cars.
Thanks to its Vehicle-To-Load technology (V2L), the IONIQ 5 can power up other EVs and other electrical devices.
Interior Features
Aside from the ample space in the cabin, you have a large centre console that can glide back and forth between the front seats, containing a lot of storage space and trims according to specs. The dashboard is made of eco-friendly materials and is digitized, while the windshield can project navigation directions for your convenience.
Infotainment
To stay in the concept of “connected living,” the IONIQ 5 has integrated smartphone apps such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and advanced voice-recognition technology. You have a 12-inch touchscreen for all your entertainment needs on the dashboard.
