Hyundai Palisade vs Honda Pilot

If you are looking for a stylish mid-sized SUV, you may notice that there are plenty of choices on the market today. Because this segment can seem a bit oversaturated, it can be hard to decide which SUV would be best for you. While there are a lot of vehicles to choose from in this segment, two SUVs seem to stand out above the competition: the Hyundai Palisade and the Honda Pilot.
Both of these vehicles have a wide range of advanced features. However, one of these vehicles offers more standard features and more versatility than the other. Here is a look at how the Hyundai Palisade compares to the Honda Pilot.
What's New for 2022?
Both of these vehicles are staying in the same generation that they were in last year. However, they both receive a healthy number of upgrades.
Hyundai Palisade
This year, the Palisade is making safety a top priority. No matter which model you choose, all Hyundai Palisades come standard with a wide range of driver-assist features including a blind-spot collision avoidance system and a rear cross-traffic collision avoidance system. The turn signal is also integrated into the side mirrors of all trim levels as well.
Honda Pilot
The Pilot offers better technology features this year. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment now comes standard on all models and comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. While these new features are much-needed upgrades, they come with a higher price tag as well. The Pilot's base mode now cost more than $7,000 more than it did last year.
Interior Comfort
Both of these vehicles offer seating for seven or eight occupants. The Palisade has a spacious cabin that provides plenty of legroom and headspace for all three rows. Adults can be just as comfortable in the third-row seats as they are in the first row.
The Pilot, however, does not accommodate adult passengers as well. Adults will be comfortable in the first and second rows. However, because the seats are much lower in the third row, the back seat will only be comfortable for children.
Power and Performance
The Palisade comes standard with a 3.8-litre V6 engine that comes equipped with an idle start-stop and can deliver 291 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft of torque. This powerful engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that also comes with paddle shifters for a more controlled performance.
The Pilot comes with a 3.5-litre V6 engine that is paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and delivers up to 280 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft of torque.
Starting Price
As we mentioned previously, because the Pilot put new infotainment displays in the vehicle, it now comes with a higher starting cost. The 2022 Honda Pilot has a starting price of $46,120.
The Palisade also added new technology to the vehicle, but it did not seem to affect the price in the same way. The 2022 Hyundai Palisade has a starting price of around $41,000.
